Making Room matters because all people matter to God. There are people in our community who have not been reached. Not everyone in our neighborhoods attends church much less walks with Christ, but God loves those people. Our scorecard has never been size, but faithfulness. Making Room is a response to God’s vision for First Riverview to make more room in our hearts and in our church campus. Making Room is a reminder to keep God center in our vision, in our heart and in our finances which will allow us to continue to passionately pursue influencing others to become thriving followers of Christ.

Sometimes, life doesn’t work out like we expected. Even those who walk closely with God find themselves in the pit once in a while. But, when circumstances seem to be against us, God is always at work for us, accomplishing His purposes for our good and His glory. As we study the life of Joseph in Genesis 37-50, we learn how to find faith when life turns sour.

In our society today, the pursuit of character has been abandoned for the pursuit of personal achievement and fulfillment. This series reminds us that God is in the process of developing character in His children and He wants us to be a part of the process. When we choose to renew our mind, it will result in a transformed life.

Christians today live in a world that is activity heavy and relationship light. The result is spiritual emptiness. We struggle to know what God wants from us and for us... and we’re unsure what a real relationship with God really looks like. But that was never God’s idea. HIS idea of faith is not about rules or religion— it’s about relationship. That’s where God tells us to start. In Romans 12, God gives us a clear picture of what Christians should look like at the root level. If you’re ready to move from “ in ” to “ all in ,” then you’re ready to become a Romans 12 Christian. The next steps for you to THRIVE on your journey toward true spirituality start here.

We all go into a relationship with something — something from our past, an expectation of the future, ideas about dating, the struggle of waiting on God's timing or the question of what our purpose is in marriage. In the series "Love Story," we're studying the book of Ruth, particularly the relationship between Boaz and Ruth. They both carried a past into their relationship, but pursued God in their lives. Their love story left a godly legacy of redemption for future generations. Are you willing to let God write your love story?

Jesus had some interesting characters in His family too, and they’re not too dissimilar from yours. In this Christmas sermon series based on Matthew 1 , we will take a look at five people from Jesus’ family tree and what they tell us about navigating our own relationship rough spots.

Everything has a beginning. Every person, every idea, every journey starts somewhere. Whether it's one small step in a new direction or a major event, from that point forward nothing is ever the same. It's not always comfortable. It's not always easy. But it's a start.
