Child Safety Requirements
Child safety is of the utmost importance at First Baptist Riverview. Therefore, we maintain stringent child safety practices and are always striving to provide the gold standard for safety in all of our ministries. Our chief priority is to protect the children and students of First Riverview, as they hear the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ and learn to grow in faith and live on mission. Our second priority is to protect the reputation of our church and ministries as a safe place for families to come and do life together in a faithful, loving community.
Below you will find a summary of our child safety requirements. We hope this information will instill confidence in you as a parent or guardian. Always feel empowered and encouraged to communicate with our team, if you have questions about these practices or if you ever see or experience anything at First Riverview that does not seem to align with these requirements. You can view a more detailed explanation of your requirements here.

Our Four-fold Child Safety Requirements:
- Screening (of Volunteers) - We thoroughly screen all volunteers who work with or have direct access to minors according to the following.
- Supervision (by Screened Volunteers) - We maintain stringent supervision requirements, especially the “Two-Adult Rule” to protect children from ever being alone with a volunteer.
- Training (of all Volunteers) - We provide introductory training to new volunteers, and we are always pursuing new and better training resources for both directors and volunteers.
- Reporting (of Safety Incidents or Child Vulnerability Concerns) - We provide a clear, accessible, and monitored reporting process through ministry directors.
